4.4 Management Skills
Why is it significant?  Management is a key input to the production process and the quality of management can be crucial in determining competitiveness.
	How does the UK perform?
	Internationally the UK lags behind competitor countries in management skills. The International Institute for Management Development finds, across the G7 countries, business executives’ perceptions of management quality rank the UK 5th out of 7 behind Canada, the US, Germany and France (Chart 4.4).
