4.3 Lifelong Learning
Why is it significant?
Enhancing skill levels can only be partially addressed through curriculum changes in schools and universities. Continuing education and training, outside compulsory formal education, also allows individuals to refresh or complement previous education and training.
	How does the UK perform?
	The International Adult Literacy Survey shows that the UK performs ahead of the US but behind Canada in terms of continuing education and training undertaken by adults (Chart 4.3).
